Second Chance Checking   
Everyone deserves a second chance to improve their checking account standing with creditors and merchants.  That's why we created our Second Chance Checking account! 

We've teamed up with Family Credit Counseling Services of Rockford to provide a six hour comprehensive class on managing your checking account.  Once you have completed this course and received a certificate you will be eligible for our Second Chance Checking account!

Your Second Chance is as easy as 1, 2, 3.

1.  Simply request your checking account report from Chexsystems

2.  Attend Get Checking course through Family Credit Counseling Services of Rockford and receive a certificate of completion

3.  Once you receive your certificate, you can bring it in to Rock Valley Credit Union to open your Second Chance Checking account

Your checking account is better the second time around! 

**Visa Check Card application requires full Direct Deposit or Payroll Deduction, otherwise account is subject to a 3 month waiting period with account evaluation.  Check numbers on paper checks will start around 100 and will advance to 500 upon reorder with account evaluation.  Overdraft Protection is subject to approval beginning with a $200 line of credit.  Chexsystems is a consumer reporting agency.  Call Chexsystems at 800-428-9623 or go to www.chexhelp.com.

 Overdraft Privilege is an organized and structured process that allows a member to overdraw their transaction account according to a small preset limit.  It is a popular and valuable service that saves you from the expense and embarrassment of a returned check or late payment.  It is not a "line of credit" program; however, repayment is expected based on the terms of the Overdraft Privilege program. Bill Pay is a convenient online service allowing you to pay your bills from the convenience of your home.  Pay your utility company, neighbor or babysitter.  It's simple, safe and 100% guaranteed!

Important Notice for Bill Pay Users

**When you sign up for our Bill Pay service your checking account will be upgraded to Priority Checking within the next 30 days.  Once your account is upgraded to Priority Checking you will be required to keep a minimum balance of $250 in your checking account or have the following products to avoid a $4 monthly service fee:  $10,000 in loans excludes Visa accounts or $10,000 in deposits (not including certificates) or Payroll Deduction or Direct Deposit.  Should your balance drop below $250 during a month and you do not have the above mentioned products, a $4 monthly fee will be charged to your account.
